University of New Brunswick Holds Technology Translation to Filter Current Research Projects

The University of New Brunswick held a Technology Translation Workshop in an effort to filter the research projects of the universities in an effort to determine which to pursue, based on which had the greatest market potential.
A research report is completed on every innovation from the workshop
Fourteen (14) Innovations were tested and showed promising results.  The average annual sales forecast for the innovations was $10.1 million and they rated above average compared to other innovations on the marketplace.

“This is beneficial in considering future actions for the product add acclaim.” - response from one of the participants.

Assessments often include the development of a commercialization pathway and placement of the technology on the Planet Eureka Open Innovation Marketplace.

Word Of Mouth Research Conducted Provides Promising Results

The word of Mouth Research was conducted by Eureka Research from June to September 2010 and reviewed by Lynn Kahle, Ph.D., professor and head of Marketing at the University of Oregon.

“The full collection of these studies provides promising results and implies that the methods your team has developed represent an incremental improvement over previous methods”, said Dr. Kahle.

We did this research in coordination with one of our corporate clients in an effort to determine the most effective marketing messages to use when launching a product throughout North America.  The research was proven successful with the 3 key messages that generated the best word or mouth and in turn, the most marketing that resulted in a sale.

“This methodology logically predicts the 5-year life cycle of a product, which is more useful information than traditional 1-year estimates”, Kahle says of the word of mouth marketing results.
